Single Mantle Kerosene Lantern

A really beautiful vintage 237 that is US made but undated. The ventilator on this lantern got smacked pretty hard in one area but luckily it is right at a bail hole so you can't see it when displayed. Unfortunately it did not have a globe when received so I added a replacement.

Lantern disassembled and rebuilt; features a new filler cap gasket and valve stem packing, all else cleaned and retained. Comes on instantly when propery preheated and it burns as bright as you'd expect a massive single mantle lantern to be. Much of the frame and pump cap were consumed by rust. I got the frame clean, but didn't even try the cap--the original was replaced and will be sent with the lantern.

The nickel shines very nicely but there are a few dart-sized dings--they're visible but I wouldn't consider them anything more than character marks. But, they're there and I wanted you to know. There is also a little bit of nickel chipping along the bottom rim of the fount.
